Born on the island of Puerto Rico, Nilza embraces her Hispanic heritage and is passionate about building community partnerships, and working with pastors and ministry leaders across all denominations. She has dedicated most of her professional and ministerial life to community development, urban ministry, and women’s development.

She is a member of the Faith and Justice Association Program and an ordained minister. Music is such a part of her Latino heritage that she can’t help but dance to the beat of good drums! She is grateful to God for being married to Ray ‘Chino’ Díaz, a talented musician and percussionist of Dominican descent, who works alongside her in ministry.

They have a mixed family of 5 adult children and 5 grandchildren.
